Some few weeks ago, I was blessed enough to go on my second solo trip. This time I went to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal and also one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been to. It was an amazing experience. I fell in love with Lisbon from the moment I started exploring it. Not only was it diverse, but it was also full of culture, life, history, vibes, dreams, Art and beauty that words can’t describe. One has to experience it.

Flight and Accommodation
I departed from Frankfurt international Airport. I payed 46,19€ for the first flight (FRA – LIS) with Ryanair and 97,70€ for the second flight (LIS – FRA) which was with a company called Trip air. Now the mistake that I made, was to not book the Flights all at once. The first flight was book 2 Months before and the second one was booked two weeks before I travelled back. So, that’s why it was a little bit pricy.
I was there for six days and I stayed in an Airbnb “apartment” – well it was more of a little private room with one bed, a kitchen sink and a bathroom for 107, 99€. The place was basic and small, but very well located. It was in an area called Principál Real which is next to the famous Bairro Alto and also good to reach with either Bus, Tram or Metro.
Food and Drinks
The nicer restaurants are in Principál Real: it has a little bit of everything. There is a tiny restaurant for typical Portuguese food called Tascardoso. A cevicheria with a cool vibe for the greatest ceviche, Prego da Peixaria for typical / not so typical Portuguese food, El Clandestino for a great south American food, Bao Bao in Chiado for very good Asian food and great vibes.
For a more serious restaurant you have the Pap’acorda in the first floor of Mercado da Ribeira (Time out Market) which is known for good and reliable typical Portuguese food and the best chocolate mousse in the city 😉. In o Bairro do Avillez in Chiado you can also find Restaurants for delicious Portuguese food from trendy Chefs. And for Fado, go to Rua Alfama, which is a street filled with Fado Restaurants (chilled or elegant).
Now for the famous Pastéis de nata I recommend either Pastéis the Belém (in Belém) or a small place called Manteigaria (largo de Camoes). Ps. Eat more than one and thank me later 😊. Also check out café Brasileira and café Bénard – the have amazing croissants (almost like the french one).
Sightseeing
There are so many things that you can do in Lisboa and so many places to explore such as the Lx Factory which is known for its hiptser and rocky vibes, Arts, Shops and cafés or visit Bélem and take pictures next to the o Ponte 25 Abril (or like I call it "The San Franscisco Bridge"). Catch the Tram 28 to Graca to check out two view points called miradouro da graca and miradouro da sra do monte. Once you are done, you can walk down to Alfama and explore the narrow streets or catch the same Tram 28 for the opposite direction (Prazeres), get out in Campo de Ourique and explore the neighbourhood of Campo and Estrela – you’ll love it. Also check out the parks such as Jardim de Principál Real or Jardim de Estrela – trust me you won’t regret it. To the beach: Take the Train to either Cascais or Sintra where the western point of Europe is situated.
